I love to SEE the Temple I'm going there one day.....

 I have always felt having my children look at and visit the temple often will inspire them to be married there one day.

 On the 4th of July we visited Temple Square on a drive from Colorado to Utah to visit family.  The kids saw the Temple spires from the freeway and said "Let's stop mom."  And stop we did.  We were blessed to hear Patriotic music coming from the Tabernacle and to have gorgeous flowers everywhere.

 We live on an island in the middle of the Pacific with our nearest temple in the Philippines.  We continuously pray for the Saints in Micronesia that one day soon they may enjoy the blessings and power from temple attendance from their very own Temple on Guam.

 I had Brendan and Natalie climb the steps and touch the door so they could visualize themselves entering the temple

 Afterwards I had them sit at the reflection pool and contemplate all it takes to be worthy to enter the Lord's house

  

 And I reflected how blessed I am to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and to have been married in the Boise Temple 22 years ago.  I also reflected how bright the future looks thinking about us as a Celestial Family.  My mother's heart yearned with the righteous desire to be together for eternity, and I sent a prayer heavenward for the fulfillment of this goal and that one day we would all SEE our Savior in his hollowed house.

Flowers at the Temple

My sisters, all 6 of us, went to the Boise, Idaho Temple. We were overflowing with tears and joy to be in the Lord's hallowed halls. My sister Athlyn and I went back for another sealing session. We each had names of sisters from the late 1800's one from Iowa and another from Sweden but we marveled that the sisters each had a name of a flower: Daisey and Lillie.Athlyn and I had a spiritual high in the ceiling room and left feeling buoyant and loved and happy in the service of God.

I always feel that God gives us tests but also blessings after we leave the temple--- and more importantly he gives us reminders of His love and awareness of us. When we left the temple, I wasn't surprised that there were flowers: Lilly's and Daisies placed in our path. In fact we kept seeing these specific flowers throughout the day wherever we went. It was almost a "thank you" from the spirit world from these newly endowed sisters but also a hug from heaven. We two "unprofitable servants" were paid more than full for our service of time and now whenever I see a flower, I know that God loves us.

Good Still Happens in the World

Allicia Hubbs, professional photographer extraordinaire, went with a new convert family to the San Diego Temple. She graced us with some springtime images of the Lord's House in California.

Looking at Allicia's photos, I couldn't help but think that these flowers outside the temple represent how we look every time we leave the temple, bright and beautiful and ready to bring joy to the world.

The newly converted family that Allicia captured on their happy day, are moving to Japan with the military. Their endowments and sealing at the San Diego Temple will give them the courage and strength to deal with the aftermath of the earthquake and Tsunami and move to a new country. And they in turn will help bring new growth to Japan with the gospel's good news.


I would like to share with you a quote by a woman who visits the temple regularly: "You can't help but leave the Temple feeling uplifted. You learn charity and love and compassion. You leave the cares of the day outside the doors of the temple, and when you go out, your feet are led to the paths you've been searching for to help you with some problem you might have."
May your feet lead to you the temple often and when you leave the hallowed walls may you feel God leading you down the path of righteousness and happiness.

Temple Passport - the Original

It was brought to our attention that we have a copycat now: The Utah Temple Passport - tour guide.

Basically she took our Temple Passport and wrote some background details on the temples in UT.  This is what she says in her blog Vocal Sokol:


"About a year ago during a casual conversation Steve mentioned how his little sister Hayley who was endowed that day would likely be filling her Temple Passport pretty fast because she married an awesome straight-arrow guy. "

So she specifically mentions our Temple Passport by name.  Guess I will be getting a lawyer....

Temple Passport Queen

Lt. Colonel Juanita Walton just updated her Temple Passport:  she currently has 101 temples visited. There are 144 spaces available in the Temple Passport, and Jaunita says we need an to create an extra insert to put in the Temple Passport so she can have spaces to record her GOAL:  all 157 temples.  Her latest visit was the Gila Valley, AZ.

Her customer testimony:  "I'm so glad you made the Temple Passport.  I've so enjoyed mine."

Which UT temple is this?

This is a dear friend, Andrea Buckley.  She decided this year for the Christmas family photo, it should represent something pertaining to the Savior.  So she had her family gather in front of the temple.  So all you Utahans, put on your thinking caps and tell me which UT temple is in the background.  First correct response wins a FREE Temple Passport.  Good luck!

Families are Forever

I have a wonderful extended family.  This is a family photo of the Clarks. (My dad's sister-- my beautiful Aunt Rochelle)  My youngest two cousins, Shally and Cara were just married in the temple in  2010.  My Aunt wrote in her family newsletter: "There is nothing more fulfilling than having your entire family in the temple together: the culmination of all our lives-- teaching, praying and doing, to bring us back to God, sealed in His Holy Temple."

We wish you all the happiness of eternity!

My baby sister got married!

 Ilene Carol Bastian is the baby of 9 children.  She was married in the Sacramento Temple to Morgan Compton and all 9 siblings attended (8 were able to go in for the ceremony).  It was such a spiritual experience.  We knew that our dad was near and his joy was full viewing the righteous choices of his children beyond the veil.
